Panama, July 22, 2025. - At an exhibition of talent and energy, young musicians performed an officially established concert, the first Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) with the presence of ministers of Education and Culture, Lucy Molinar and María Eugenia Herrera.

At the Alfredo de Saint Malo Festival these emerging talents met and with international teachers they performed memorable pieces at the Gala "Young Symphony: The Power of The Band."

These young Panamanian people from all regions of the country shared the stage with well-known international artists at the concert organized by the Fundación Symphony Concertador de Panama under the motto "Roots and Vanguardia."

At the midpoint of the gala, Cultural Minister María Eugenia Herrera said that "when a nation challenges art, it cultivates sensitivities and challenges the value of talent by strengthening the nation's soul and sowing a future at every note rising from our stage, and that's why it's an honor to share tonight at this festival with the energy and talent of young Panamanian musicians."

He added that "we aim to make that bridge for Latin America and to prove that Panama has that beautiful story to tell, I congratulate every one of you our musicians, the parents of this great concert, we are proud of each of you for your talent and dedication to the art that inspires you."

Under the baton of master Kevin Segura (US) and with the special participation of Panamanian director Irving Rodriguez, the Youth Symphony Band of MEDUCA had a musical gala of excellence, passion and artistic commitment. He also had his outstanding performance by Chris Scanlon, a well-known trumpeter and professor at the University of Florida as a guest soloist.

Through the Alfredo de Saint Malo International Academic Music Festival and the Ministry of Culture, select students at national level now form the Youth Symphony Band of MEDUCA, living an inspiring and training experience with great teachers of international academic music.

That accomplishment celebrates young talent and reaffirms its commitment to the musical formation of excellence and to the promotion of the new generations of Panamanian artists.
