La Parish Nuestra Señora del Carmen was the stage of a spectacular Christmas concert that merged European and Panamanian villances, performed by the Panama Network of Orchestra and Youth Choirs. That event, organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the European Union in Panama, dazzled all of them.
Under the master's musical leadership of masters Alexis Fong, Oscar Pagan and Luis Salas, more than 100 young talents have fascinated the public with outstanding performances that have been highlighted by their quality and emotion. The evening also had the special participation of the Metropolitan Chorus of Panama and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, who have been able to transmit the Christmas spirit to each note.
The concert did not only celebrate the Christmas season but also awaken the musical wealth of Panama and Europe, creating a unique moment that merged tradition and cultural diversity. To the attendees, the experience leave an inescapable memory filled with harmony, joy and union.
The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, emphasized the importance of the Network of Orchestra and Youth Choirs of Panama and expressed: "Our vision for this Network is to teach, to motivate the desire to learn and, above all, to promote the passion of every child and youth to develop their gift and talent."
He added that: "Tonight, through music, we wish to share with you the Christmas spirit that unites and inspires us."
For his part, Izabela Matusz, Ambassador of the European Union to Panama, emphasized: "That's an evening we celebrate our fruitful relationship and join us to continue to promote our values and interests and our brotherhood. Our commitment to Panama includes many aspects, including the promotion of education and culture."
Gabriel Boyd, Officer of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), also emphasized the transformative impact of music: "Music has a special power: it connects and inspires us and fills us with hope. Each chord, every voice, every effort we hear tonight is a testimony to what we can achieve as we believe in our youth's talent.
The more than a hundred young people from Panama's National Network of Children's and Youth's Chors offer us their art but they show the transformative power of music in their lives and our communities. They are a reflection of hope and determination, an example of what it means to work with passion and dedicated to a dream. "
