The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, participated in the protocolary act of incineration of missing flags, organized by the Government of the Province of Panama, an event that formally marks the start of the familial parties in the country.

At this solemn ceremony, more than 100 flags that have no longer met the right conditions have been incinerated, an event involving ministers, directors of public and private entities, governors, mayors and local authorities, who have paid tribute to their homeland.

The Governor of the Province of Panama, Mayín Correa, thanked the authorities for their presence and explained that this ceremony was founded by Act 34 of 15 December 1949, as amended by Act 2 of 23 January 2012, which empowers the provincial governors to receive and incinerate bad or bad-been flags.

The program included an oath to the flag by Ulina Mapp, National President of the Association of Guides of Panama, followed by the entrance of the National Flag of Panama, brought by Health Minister Fernando Boyd Galindo.

Also 10th La Bandera, performed by Luis "Cholo" Bernal and the performance of the "Hyawata March" by composer Nell Morett, by the Republican Band.

The historic review about the creation of flags was presented by the historian and president of the National Association of Symbols of the Nation, Bladimir Berrio-Lemm.

The event culminated with an interpretation of the glorious notes of the National Anthem, by the Honourable Member, Paulette Thomas.
