The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, met at the headquarters of the Ministry with the Executive Secretary of the Convention Andrés Bello (CAB), Delva Batista, to report the progress of the project of the Satellite Cultural Account. That project, with the financing of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) and the Ministry of Culture, aims to implement a satellite information system to measure the economic and social impact of culture in Panama.

At the meeting, the next actions were defined to publicize the progress of the project and the invitation to different cultural actors to provide information about public spending on culture was discussed. Data from local municipalities, advertising companies and other cultural sectors seek to achieve the first measure of the economic impact of cultural activity on national economic development.

The Andrés Bello Convention has focused its efforts on the development of public cultural policies, research methodologies, sectorial studies and analysis of the cultural environment.
