On April 13, Portobelo District, Colón Province will conduct the sixth pollera congo Festival that will bring together 27 folk and artisan groups with the aim of rescuing and promoting congo Culture, a demonstration that was designated by UNESCO as an Intangible World Heritage Site.

The Minister of Culture detailed at a meeting with the mass media that this year's festival will have as its motto "Between necks and drums,"

They were at the event, as well as Minister González Villarrué, Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), Ismael Herrera, Administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), Denisse Guillén, Vice President of the Board, Victoriana Zúñiga and Queen of the pollera Conga, Delia Barrera and sponsors.

Parallel with the pallet presentations by congo's groups, there will also be a gastronomic fair, crafts and institutional pavilions.

The incumbent of Culture called on the bearers of the congo culture to continue to maintain plans to safeguard this widely recognized expression.

The pollera congo festival is a tool for its safeguard and so it's Mandatory to do so with good shape and prepare other generations that will organize it in the future.
