Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery welcomes José Maria Olivella's "Retrospective"

El Quixote, offers us many teachings, if we learned from his strength, his human warmth and his other qualities, there would be less wars and focused on seeking peace, "stated José María Olivella, a plastic artist who opened his" Retrospective "show at the Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) on March 20.

The sample is composed of 58 paintings put forward in different techniques, with an atoning of the architect Olivella's admiration for his iconic figure of his literature "El Quijote and his Sancho escudero" and with his collection of about 40 years of his conduct with his visual arts.

Those who attended the event at the opening of the exhibition saw titles such as "Traveling Knight," "Rocinante," "Wintering of Love," "Blue Moon," "We continue Riding" and "From Earth to Heaven," among others.

Olivella also shares with this sample the piece "Abysms of the Mind," one of his first works and dedicated to his mother with Alzheimer's disease.

At the opening event of this "Retrospective," Isabel Burgos, National Director of The Arts of MiCultura gave a few words of welcome and highlighted Olivella's career, an autodidactic artist while expressing his complacency with the exhibitor for choosing the Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery as his home to tell us his story.

Olivella stated that she "wants to inspire young people and have dreams and to learn and that of course they read and if it's Quixote, better because that book leads to great personal growth."
