To recognize the achievements of women, to inspire new generations and to promote equal opportunities in the music industry are the aims of the second meeting of Ibero-American women, called "DIONANCIES" that will be held up to March 22 in the City of The Arts.
The event co-organized by the Ibericordestas Juveniles programme, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation with the support of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will have the presence of composers, singers, specialists and instrumentologists from Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela and the host country, Panama.
At the meeting, attendees will be able to listen to women and report their experiences to leave impurtable prints on every note, melody and word addressed in the sector.
The event will have a 3-day duration and will address issues such as performing anxiety in young musicians, Psychology for 21st-century musics, Membership through Yamaha Methodology, Women's Role in Musical Projects for People with Disabilities, Conversations in Pedagogics and Resilience through Coral Singing, among other interesting themes.
Laura Viñuela, a musicologist and academic coordinator of Dysonicias expressed that "this year we are more focused on Panama's women and the goal we have is to share and share our professional stories, experiences and trajectories."
Electra Castillo, Director of Dysonances, expressed that "we firmly believe in the importance of giving visibility and support to women who contribute significantly to the musical landscape."
"We get through the challenges. We women do not seek equality, we seek equity, we have all the same opportunities," added Castillo.
"It's important to note that this event has been a significant contribution to bridging the gender divide at the orchestras level, enabling today the presence of orchestral directors" stated the Panamanian director. "
