< strong > Minister of Culture participates in an independent Dominican Republic < / strong >

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, participated in the celebration of the 180 years of the Independence of the Dominican Republic, at an event that was held at the diplomatic headquarters of the Caribbean country in Panama, where members of the Dominican community, Supreme Court judges, local officials, ministers and deputy ministers and members of the diplomatic body accredited to our country were also present.

Ambassador Prisca Violeta Mazara highlighted the outstanding figures of the independent gesture: Juan Pablo Duarte and Diez, Ramón Matías Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, who fought to achieve this goal with his efforts and sacrifice and also emphasized his diplomatic mission's achievements to strengthen bilateral relations between both nations.

The celebration was appropriate for the opening of the Cultural Room called Pedro Mir, in honor of whom he was declared a National poet of the Dominican Republic by the National Congress in 1984 and who exhibited for the guests the exhibition "The Art in the Head - face and identity" of the lens of Mariano Hernández, the photographer of the Dominican carnival.

In this sample the guests appreciated an ambitious, colorful and creative sample in which artists through body paint "body paint" recreate the diversity and joy of Dominican carnival.
