"My Environment, My Heritage" is a platform that aims to maintain latent the importance of our roots and the importance of Cultural Heritage

The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI), with the support of the Ministry of Education, undertook an official launch of the digital platform "My environment, My Heritage," as a didactic tool that will help to motivate generations of students to appreciate the importance of our identity and to know an essential part of the syllabus of content used by our teachers and teachers in classroom from a new methodology.
The platform contains more than 25 information sheets with contents about material and inmaterial heritage, shown in photographs, educational videos, documentaries and downloadable educational material with playful activities about natural environments, historic constructions, monuments and traditions of the rich culture that identifies us as Panamanian in provinces and comarcas.
The platform includes a welcome video from OEI and the Ministry of Culture, where Minister Giselle González Villarrué invites educators and students to visit the platform, to "navigate across the country and recognize our cultural heritage."
He added, "We hope that they will read, discuss the fact sheets, enjoy the photos and videos, download and manage them. We would love them to communicate with us through the platform and that when they seek more information they will also get into the great platform of Sicultura.gob.pa."
Mónica Varga, specialist in education for ITO in Panama, mentioned "we are very pleased that three institutions work with them, as partners. It was a long work that had many challenges and challenges but will have an impact on teachers, historians and students. To us it's a commitment, a duty for the country, to be able to contribute tools and meaningful learning."
The project aims to promote, from a vision of heritage education, the importance of Panama's material and immaterial heritage (PCI) among students and teachers of the educational system, from a practical and creative look at theoretical knowledge, so that they will also serve as proponents of the cultural heritage's different forms and sites.
