The OSN of the Ministry of Culture with 25 performances run concert season

With five concerts during January, starting this 18 with a performance at 8: 00 p.m. at the Balboa Theater, the National Symphony Orchestra's concert season will be opened and will be scheduled to conduct 25 in capital town, Santiago and David for this year.

About this season of concerts, the Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Giselle González Villarrué emphasized the trajectory and influence of the OSN and recalled that more than a thousand children from public schools have been connected with symphonic music and that it's already become customary that twice a month, the Balboa Theater will host free concerts for the population.

He added that these presentations will be expanded into the country and after 83 years, at last as from 23 of this month, the OSN will have a modern headquarters that meets all international standards in the City of The Arts.

The national director of The Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Isabel Burgos, detailed that this season will be very balanced to please all tastes and emphasized that during the first concert to be held at the Teatro Balboa, the OSN under Ricardo Risco's leadership will play compositions by Panamanian authors.

He added that as in previous years "we will have special guests as directors and international but also national soloists" and the traditional Cornos concert.

Also, during this month, the OSN will be presenting the Symphony Pepina that's a new musical product that started last year and that's a "didactic concert for the whole family."

The concert will be held on 22 from 5: 30 p.m. at the Mill Federal Plaza in David and at 3: 30 p.m. at Santiago Mill and 25 at 7: 30 p.m. at La Ciudad de Las Artes as part of the opening of this cultural complex and close on 26 a.m. from 5 p.m. and 30 p.m. at 4 high Mill at Colón.

That year also includes presentations from the National Ballet of Panama on 24 January at Ángel María Herrera de Penonomé, Coclé, and 26 at Manuel María Tejada Roca de Las Tablas, Province of Los Santos and 28 January at the Domo del Parque Omar.

The scheduled concerts to be held up to November include one for the day of the Musician that will be held on November 21, that of the Cornos Festival on October 3 and that of emerging directors on September 5 and that of Night of Valses on September 19, among others.

During the press conference several important announcements were made for the cultural entity, including that the Minister, Giselle González Villarrué received the musical orchestration entitled "but I have no love" of the late Panamanian composer Alfonso Joseph who is considered "a pioneer in the techniques and style under Latin and one of the legends of Afro-Spanish and Latino jazz."

The donation was made by Otoniel Joseph, son of the late Panamanian musician who did his career abroad.

Meanwhile, Erick Baeza Director of the Office for Institutional Development of My Culture announced that the Manual of Organization and Operation of the National Symphony Orchestra that includes all the aims, functions, hierarchical dependence and organizational structure of the Orchestra have been drafted.

The deputy director of the OSN gave a collection of recordings with the aim of recording the musical work with personal compositions that was an arduous work of about 15 years and master Ricardo Zúñiga of the representative committee of the OSN announced the creation of the Orchestra's website where you can find extensive information about it and its musicians as well as programming, among other information.
