< strong > 19 training and development projects will benefit with financial support through Fondo Cine < / strong >

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the National Management of the Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry (DICINE) released the 19 training and development projects that will be benefitted with economic support through the Fondo Cine, with a value of B /. 291, 80.00 balboas, established by Act 16 of 27 April 2012.

The projects that will be made credit to non-refundable funds from Fondo Cine 2023 are: Voices of the territories, 3D Animation Workshop, Talking Eyes, Innova Cinema, District Cinema, Hayah Festival, Panaledia, Panama International Film Festival, Creative Production Workshop, Roots of My Barrio, GECU Formation.

They were also selected: Icaro Festival, Creating, Paneo, International Film Diplomat, Course of Cinematographic Appreciation, Platino educa, Bannábafest and Creation of Cinematographic Project Folders.

These projects were chosen at an open call by members of the film industry, where 19 proposals were received related to audiovisual training, film festivals, film appraisal courses, film project laboratories and so forth.

It should be noted that for the second consecutive year the projects were evaluated by international specialists from the film and audiovisual industry, among them Ignacio Cattoogio, General Coordinator of the Executive Secretary of the Conference of Cinematographic Authorities of Iberoamerica and Arlette Sanz, head of the Training and Training Division of the General Management of Cinema of Dominican Republic and teacher in the area of production and conduct of short films and production of documentaries.

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué stated "that the film sector has been growing very interesting in recent years but especially because of the great work that has been undertaken and the work as a whole of a team that you have been leading, this being a great differentiator."

"Today we have just put forward a fund for the development and training of Fondo Cine B /. 291, 800 pits distributed in 19 projects that promote and train our local audiovisual industry." "There are projects that have already transcend boundaries such as the International Film Festival, others that have training in local and internal territories."

The Minister also mentioned "there's a great diversity of projects that eventually lead to strengthening our film industry with better professionals but especially with that international projection we are looking for, so with this fund we contribute to get to industry and that great end."

For its part, Sheila González, National Director of Cinema, stated that with this impetus, these projects have been given to her, the Ministry of Culture is promoting the creation, production, display and value of audiovisual expressions in both national and international film circuits and thus contributing to the enrichment of the Panamanian audiovisual landscape.

MiCultura aims to promote industry's professionalism by promoting the interest, knowledge and value of the national audiovisual, Ibero-American and other cinematographer, through this program of economic stimuli that allows to give support, to figure out the new routes of Panamanian cinema.
