< strong > Panama shows its literary collection in Chile < / strong >

The writers Consuelo Tomas, Damors Serrano, Cheri Lewis and Marixa Lasso and the singer Karla Lamboglia are charged with representing Panama from 10 to 19 November at version 42 of the International Book Fair of Santiago (FILSA) 2023, that takes place at the Cultural Center estación Mapocho, considered as the first Cultural Center of Chile.

The visit of these ladies from Panamanian literature is because Panama is the guest country to this interesting event with the aim of strengthening this cultural exchange with South American countries and showing the literary collection and some elements of our customs and traditions with a stand supported by the Ministry of Culture of Panama (MiCultura) and by the Embassy of Panama in Chile.

The public visiting Panama's space at FILSA 2023 will be able to get to know the works of the national literary awards that MiCultura holds such as Ricardo Miró, Carlos Francisco Changmarín, Gustavo Batista, and other titles by Spanish authors. Also available are publications from the National Library of Panama.

"The relationship of Panama and Chile is a fruitful relationship of many years, in 2005 Chile was the guest country at the International Book Fair of Panama and that's why we are back with this brother country to share with his writers and his works, as well as his culture," stated Eduardo Castillo, president of the Chilean Book House.

Cheri Lewis, Consuelo Tomas and Damare Serrano are Panamanian writers with national awards in poetry, tale and essay. Dr. Lasso is a historian, researcher at the CIHAC Center for Historical Research and author of the book Erased (lost stories from the Panama Canal), who will be participating in talks, round tables, workshops and lectures.

While singer Karla Lamboglia will have several musical performances within the framework of this Chilean literary party.
