Beyond a film event, Icarus International Festival is a platform for integration and dialogue among Central American countries, showing reality and cultural diversity and offering an area of training and dialogue, with educational activities, workshops and talks at different points of the country noted the national film director of the Ministry of Culture, Sheila González.

González's approach was at the opening event of the Festival, where, moreover, she expressed that and "The Ministry of Culture is proud to support this initiative, which contributes to strengthening and disseminating the film and audiovisual industry of Panama and Central America because we believe that cinema is a powerful tool to promote and protect our cultural expressions."

The film director of MiCultura stated that at this festival sand you will "enjoy a high quality film sample with innovative and original proposals from filmmakers that reflect their challenges, their visions and their dreams.

González highlighted the role of the FAE Foundation, the director of the Roberto King Festival and his work team as well as the Spanish embassy for joining this project, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, the GECU, all sponsors and the National University that holds this cultural meeting of the film industry of the Central American region.

The Icaro Festival will be held from October 2 to October 7 at the University Cinema of the National University of Panama and from October 9 to 13 at David and Puerto Armuelles, at Chiriquí and at Changuinola and Admiral, at Bocas del Toro.

During these days, production will be presented from eight countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama as well as 6 workshops and a round table.
