Under the development project of the Creative and Cultural Industries Market, "MICC with Taste a Portobelo," 30 entrepreneurs from Colón Province received their course completion certificate from the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) and the Panamanian Women's Center.

That delivery at the Portobelo Customs Central Park corresponds to the result of the program "Strengthening Afro-descendants in the market of creative and cultural industries of the course referred to as" Business Plan "held from April to September 2023.

Cultural Minister Giselle González Villarué during his activity "congratulated the entrepreneurs for their efforts and thanked the BID team for their vision for the development of countries."

"Since MiCultura we have a commitment to open up new spaces to them, not only at Portobelo but at other locations. The talent have them and we have to guide them." emphasized González Villarrué.

Cecilia Moreno, director of the Panamanian Women's Center expressed "we are here reactivating the Portobelo fairs, 400 years later, again to open up this international trade."

He emphasized "we want Portobelo to become an area where Panamanians, visitors and tourists find it as a tourist destination."

The activity open to the public was with the market for creative and cultural industries, with artisans, entrepreneurs and artists promoting and presenting their products to the public at large.

Besides artistic and cultural performances, congo dances, fashion parade, training and a great concert by Rómulo Castro and the group Tuira.
