With the presence of about 50 artisans from La Pintada from the province of Coclé will conduct in this district the "Tenth National Hat Festival Pintao" from Friday, 20, to Sunday, October 22 with festive, folklore and artisan events that will have an economic boom to the region during these three days.
The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, was the host of the meeting with the media where details of what this festival will offer that begins Friday with his Majesty's coronation, Paola Milagros Jaramillo Vergara, became known.
It will be followed by an opening event of the intersectional sidewalk where about 50 artisan will exhibit hats of different uses and folkloric presentations in tandem, as well as popular dances at night.
On Saturday begins with a thank-you Mass, an Ingirado de Crizneja contest in an adult and youth category and an academic symposium about "Hat Pintao" as a World Heritage Site.
From 1 p.m. onwards there will be competitions such as that of the Crizneja, of Tarco Fino, Children of Rengado de Cogollos, the national of "Hat Pintano" of 12 and also that of 14 laps and at night, among other activities will be awarded to the winner of the National contest of the "Hat Pintano" from 18 to 22 laps.
On Sunday, the festival closed with a parade of carts and a ride, both of them leading to a pintao hat.
The incumbent of Culture, González Villarrué recalled that the technique of production of the "paint hat" is Intangible Cultural Heritage of mankind, the first of Panama recognized by the UNESCO.
He invited Panamanian people to visit the Festival and artisans to continue with the production of this pledge and at the same time that knowledge can pass from generation to generation.
The Minister was accompanied by the manager of the Tourism Authority, Denisse Guillén, and his deputy, Luis Ernesto Carles, and his mayor and president, Edgard D'Angelo and the Queen of the Festival, Paola Jaramillo.
