The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the "Special Committee" will hold the Art and Culture Week in David, Province of Chiriquí from September 16 to 23 that will offer visitors international events such as theater, dance, local artistic exhibitions, cultural symposia, training, gastronomic and artisan tasting as well as guided tours by the historic Barrio Bolívar and Casco Antiguo of Chiriquí.
MiCultura adds to this event with the market of Creative and Cultural Industries (MICC) and "Taste A Chiriquí San Carlos," on September 16 and 17, that will include the challenges of gastronomy, crafts and Cultural Industries, as well as training sessions about Creative Economics and a cultural and artistic tidal that will close with the presentation of the film "Donaire and Splendor."
There will be training for artisan and public at large with themes such as Entrepreneurship in Culture, by Ellis Newman, Registration of Artisan and its legal framework, by Janeth Maizon, Attention to Visitor by Juan Pablo Peralta of the Tourism Authority of Panama and the Orange Industry by José Luis Serracín of MICI.
At the Teatro Festival, MiCultura, in partnership with Brazil's Embassy in Panama and the Guimaraes Rosa Institute, will introduce the group Pia Fraus with its captivating show "Bichos do Brasil," a colorful and vibrant play that translates as "Animals of Brazil."
The event will be held at the International Academy of David and will be scheduled for September 18 at 7: 00 p.m. and will be held at the International Academy of David.
The central point of this celebration will be the first Symposium of Art, Tourism and Culture of Chiriquí, and will address issues such as "challenges of Cultural Management and Art in Rural Areas," "Art, Culture and Tourism - The Perfect Marriage," "Memory and Museums" and "Building architecture for the arts."
The week will culminate with the presentation of "Night of the Nations," with the participation of the embassy of Morocco and the consulates of Spain, Mexico, France and Colombia.
Also, from 4: 00 p.m. front of the José de Obaldía Museum, at Barrio Bolívar there will be an international gastronomic exhibition that will delight those present.
The first "SACUDIDA" will also include a number of art workshops that will be held at all of David's District Corridors in collaboration with the regional of the Ministry of Education at Chiquici offering our community's youth and teachers an opportunity to participate and learn in a creative environment.
The SACUDIDA has been materialised as a result of a collaboration between the Nido de las Artes and several allied organisations such as the French Alliance of David, Cultivama, Boi Shiri, GANCIA and InfoplacesAIP, all of them sharing a joint vision.
The Art and Culture Week aims to highlight Chiriquí on the national cultural map, offering a calendar of high-quality artistic events that place the Moon's Valley as the province that feeds not only the Panamanian body but also the soul.
