At the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), delegations were received that will participate in version 2023 of the Folklore International Couples Festival and have been awarded certificates of recognition for their work in promoting folklore and dances in each of their countries.
The International Folklore Fest at Couples is organized by Francisco Moreno, director of the Istmeña Inspiration Folklore Dance Company and will be held from 9 to 22 September in different provinces, being a meeting place with different talents and cultures.
The event will have the participation of 12 partners from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, Hawaii and Panama as host countries.
According to Francisco Moreno, creator of the festival, "this event isn't a competition, it's a cultural exchange where we join with what we love that our dances, our customs and we share our hospitality as Panamanian."
For his part, Cultural Minister Giselle González Villarrué emphasized that "it's exciting to appreciate that leading thread of dance, and here she deprives a single word that's integration, and this show gives us an overview of sister dances, close cultures and I welcome her home to this great cultural show of the region."
Panama West, Herrera, Coclé, Colón and Veraguas are part of the stage where this festival will be held.
