< strong > Conversatory about the bases of the Roberto Lewis contest < / strong >

With the participation of national and international jurors, winners and artists the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the national leadership of the arts, held an interesting conversation, this Friday, August 18, on the basis of the Roberto Lewis 2023 National Visual Arts Competition.

The busy activity was performed at the "Juan Manuel Cedeño" exhibition hall at the University of Art (Ganexa), where themes such as the pseudonym were put forward, and they are no longer used in many locations where these types of contest are held. Jury to choose a work takes into account a lot of things as an artist holds an idea, some beliefs, practice and ethics.

María Luisa Alemán, Panamanian Jury of the contest emphasized "that local actors have to join together, it's very important that they get better understanding, bringing together the needs that artists have in local artistic production, and that they are quite complex are many things that have to be moved, many alliances that we have to do with all of us, so that we will gradually get ourselves more equipped and prepared our artists and that they will be able to compete outside the country in the future."

Pilar Moreno, winner with relational art technique emphasized that thanks to these changes of transformation at bases and from the Roberto Lewis contest will allow to reach other proposals to other artists with new works of clear visual expression.

Isabel Burgos, National Director of the Arts, stated "that the convertiums are very valuable for the comments that have been made by the Jury regarding the updates that have been made to the contest

"They all agree that these changes will work to move forward discourse and improve the ecology of the Panamanian visual arts scene"
