At the 65 th edition of the pollera National Festival, the Marguerita Lozano Medal Competition (MiCultura) gave tribute to Professor Norma H. de Testa for her significant contribution to the cultural heritage and valuable legacy to our traditions and folklore as an imperishable beacon of our national identity. "

That recognition was made last July 22, at the Auditorium of Las Tablas and was given by Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture and Nicanor Castillo, Regional Director of Los Santos, in front of a full auditorium with more than 250 built up and with his elegant attire they honor the labor hands of hundreds of artisan, promoting the proper use of the typical national wardrobe.

The cultural regent, in his speech, emphasized "the work of Dona Norma, and the legacy that leaves new generations and I commend the constancy of the organizers and of the people of Qatar that have made this festival an event that was awaited and enjoyed by nationals and foreigners."

"We have to be sure that these knowledge can be built and passed on to the generations of children and youth and that they will have a responsibility not only to wear it but to make them up."

For his part, Norma Hegenbarth of Testa mentioned to be very proud and grateful, for his recognition. "My legacy is to teach the crafts and people about the proper wear of the National Santeño dress.

I would like to have health and more years of life to continue to educate the artisan in the proper use of the pollera Santeña, the placement of shivering and the outlays that put our typical suit. "

A degree in biology and chemistry, a graduate of the University of Panama. Currently she's 89 and 70 years old dedicated to the folklore area. At best she has been leading several folklore groups in institutions and ministries. Founding in 1971 from the Canajagua group, she taught youth our music, dances and costumes specifically from the Tables.

I work as a teacher at the Panamanian Institute of Special Rehabilitation (IPHE), at Richard Neuman School, First Cycle Panama, where I was Director and Assistant Director of the Plantation.

Writer with several books as: Folk Sample, Couples and Tabling Traditions, Instructive Use and Clothing of Typical Panamanian Dresses and their Supplements and currently write a book about Copes.

Author of musical compositions such as Danzón Cumbia, Tribute to Santa Librada, Los Chances and National Lotteries Tickets, tamborera, IDaan Mission, Cumbia and a dedicated point to his daughter Norma Efigenia Testa.

The pollera National Festival is an activity of popular folklore character established during 1957, organized by the Club de Lions de Las Tablas with its main aim to enaltecer the national suit of Panama, to promote its proper use and to highlight the hard work of the artisan.
