St. Joseph's Decor will be awarded to the Artesan Master of La Chorro

Edgar Javier Castro Castillo, "Maestro Artesano" from the province of West Panama, specifically from the District of La Chorro was elected by an evaluating committee to be the first artisan to get the San José Decor, which will be delivered next July 26 as an inaugural event of the XLIII version of the National Crafts Fair and will be imposed by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen.
That décor adds to the list of contest programs that have been scheduled by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) for version 2023 of the National Crafts Fair and first organized by the cultural entity.
Based on article 34 of Act No. 11 of 22 February 2011, "General Act of National Crafts," the "San José Decor" was established as a tribute and recognition to outstanding and outstanding master artisan with an outstanding value in the field of artisan training and technique and established that it will be up to the Interinstitutional Commission of Crafts to evaluate the merits of the candidates for this décor, and that will be awarded by means of a reasoned decision.

He's a folklore lover and has had an opportunity to represent Panama manually in Spain. He currently has an research project focused on the ornaments of the pollera, the production of traditional tremks in his country, which aims to be a book for generations.
The contest has as its prize an economic incentive of B /. 400 pat, with Bank Delta, a medal and a plate to credit.
