A total of 30 professionals have been awarded their course completion certificate, about The Development of Cinematographic Projects, dictated by the renowned Mexican production and filmmaker Martha Orozco.

For a week participants shared experiences and had an opportunity to discuss the path to strategically design their film projects, passing through the selection of an idea, writing, creative and artistic aspects of a folder, financing strategy, budget, legal aspects, copyright, distribution, up to participation in festivals and markets.

The fully free workshop was organized by the National Film Management (DICINE) of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and aimed at producers, directors and writers with projects to apply to the Fondo Cine National Competition.

Sheila González from DICINE from MiCultura emphasized that "MiCultura with these training aims at training and strengthening knowledge of new generations of audiovisual creators."

"It's important for us to strengthen the folders of participants applying to the Fondo Cine National Competition so that projects have a quality content that will allow them to conduct their film projects with success," added González.

The director of DICINE added "we are committed to internalizing our cinema, that all projects will cross boundaries, that we will have a high quality cinema that will identify us and that will allow us to show the world an authentically Panamanian film image.

Martha ORozco, a production and filmmaker, emphasized that "I believe that in Panama we have the potential to make good films. It's important to have films with cultural identities that leave a national brand in the region."

"The support that MiCultura offers is a bet, because managers are thinking about financial initiatives, opening up windows will generate networks to boost new talents and continue to support those that already exist," Orozco said.

While Jhojaddy Grissel Ramirez, producer and director mentioned that "I have been greatly interested with the workshop and with the practical tools to apply to the process and development of our folders, this type of experience, and that's free with experts from the international industry, is very valuable to us as Panamanian filmmakers."
