< strong > ABACITAN TO PANAMEÑOS IN 3D ANIMATION < / strong >

About 23 artists and professionals related to film, design and drawing careers in Panama culminated in their participation in the workshop "Design of 3D Charactings for Cinematographic Productions" organized by the Academy of Audiovisual Realization (ARA) with the support of the National Cinema Direction of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

The 45-day workshop was supported by Peruvian digital artist Pierre Salazar, an Oscar winner and who has been involved with projects such as Nickelodeon and Disney and the first phase focused on creating 3D characters, working with the leading and moving bodies and faces.

Sheila González, National Director of Cinema emphasized that "this workshop was held thanks to the contribution that the Panamanian State offers through the Fondo Cine for actions to train the film industry and that with this type of training we seek to train the first group of artists, who soon participate in animated productions both national and international.

"We are positive about these initiatives that this sector has by training young talents that will have an opportunity to develop their knowledge and put into practice everything they have learned," González emphasized.

For his part, Luis pacheco, director of ARA and president of the Panama Cinematographic Association, stated that "this idea was born from the need to seek talent in Panama and the dream of making an animated production of cinema in Panama that will be made by Panamanian artists and that this production will be for cinema and international distribution.

"I thank the film management of the Ministry of Culture for the great support of promoting this project so that there will be a process of creating a new industry, as the support provided by the Panamanian state is vital to strengthening the growth of the film and audiovisual industry," added pacheco.
