A party to celebrate the Afro legacy enjoyed families that met at the Libertador Park at La Chorro, where music, crafts, gastronomy and a parade and reign were part of the Afro-panamaic Festival, an activity organized by the regional leadership of the Ministry of Culture in conjunction with the Cultural House and the Mayor's office of La Chorro.

Members of the music gangs of the secondary schools of the district, looking colorful atapedas allusives to the occasion and leading by the Afro Pastoral were those charged with opening up family activity, singing recognized pieces as calypso, among others.

The artistic program continued with Tae Bo's classes run by the National Police, and later gave way to more than ten folkloric groupings composed of children and youth who gave their best by dancing pieces such as Cachimba, congo, Cumbia Darienita, and other dances that are part of the Afro heritage.

While the stage was filled with music and dance, the public was able to acquire through more than ten jobs of crafts, accessories such as shirts and skirts as well as to taste the characteristic menu of this ethnicity as bon bread, saus and scabrechis fish.

With this event, the District of La Chorro successfully closed, the month of the Black Age, with an event that allowed us to reaffirm its commitment to a colonial heritage.
