< strong > International Museum Day is celebrated at national level < / strong >

Under the motto "Museums, sustainability and well-being," museums at national level administered by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) have been united in several activities to celebrate the day dedicated to these cultural entities that originated every 18 May since 1977.

To celebrate the date that was established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) an agenda was scheduled that included visits from schools and different organisations as well as educational workshops, talks and exhibitions.

The museums of the interior of the country that belong to MiCultura as the Belisario Porras in Las Tablas, the Nationality in the Villa of Los Santos, El Caño in Natá, Province of Coclé and the Nantito in Remedios, Province of Chiriquí have been spaces for exchange to increase knowledge among children and youth from schools in the central area of the country.

Meanwhile, in Panama City, the museums of History and Colonial Religious Art, located at San Felipe, have been visited and have also been offered several workshops.

The Stella Sierra Museum in Aguadulce will be hosting up to June 30 the exhibition "Intelligent Cities" organized by cartoonist Hilde Sucre with a sample that collects 75 pieces of cartoonists from Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia and Iran, among others, who seek to teach how these artists see technological advances and their emphasis on humanity.

The Regional Museum of Veraguas also celebrated the date by welcoming the exhibition "Expo Huaca" where artists from the region, members of the Association of Visual Artists of Veraguas reflect in different techniques the pre-Columbian pieces found at this museum.
