MiCultura DA TO CONOCER THE DEC PROJECTS IN THE NATIONAL CONCURSO OF Fondo Cine

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Board of Cinema (DICINE), revealed a list of projects that were winners in each of the four modalities of the Fondo Cine 2022 National Competition.
That was an opportunity for 80 film proposals and among the twelve winners, eight were produced by men and four by women
According to established law, the Panamanian state earns $2.2 million each year from the 4 categories of the contest.
The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué thanked international lawyers for their interest in evaluating the 80 proposals that have been oriented in good direction and that more and more producers are dared to participate by growing our industry accordingly.
The Jury with an international track record determined that in the modality "Support for production of films of fiction or animation" the winners were "Papers" by Arturo Montenegro. “The Cordillera "by Omar Calvo and" Sonata for a dead man "by Ana Patricia Angulo who will get each B /. 600,000.00
In the modality "Support to production of documentaries" the winners were “The Holy One of Santa Fe "by Joaquín Horna Dolande," Mother "by Alejandra García Peña and" Inna Dule "by Sayuri Castro who will be supported with B / 100.000.00 each.
In the category "Support to Fictional feature projects and after production documentaries" those chosen were “St. Vierja Academy "by José Stoute," Awakened Mma "by Arianne Benedetti and" Mostly Naked "by Mariel García Spooner that will be supported with B / 25.00.00 each project.
In the modality “Support to projects for script development, "the winners were “Corzo Culebra "by Ana Elena Tejera," El Diablo descartes "by Fanny Huc and" Veneno Negro "by Sayuri Castro that will be supported with B / 15.00.00 each.
For his part, Sheila González, national film director indicated that from MiCultura we have been promoting the development of film activity by supporting film creators for production, promotion and distribution of Panamanian cinema inside and outside our boundaries.
Celina Murga (Argentina), Yeniffer Fasciani (Chile), Oscar Ruíz Navia (Colombia), Armando Casas (Mexico), Carlos Hernández (Mexico), Barbara Sarasola Day (Argentina), Alvaro Manzano (Bolivia), Cecilia Gómez de la Torre (Peru), Martín Boulocq (Bolivia), were the jurors with responsibility for evaluating participating projects at the Fondo Cine National Competition.
