Colloquia, contiquatoriums, exhibitions and sale of books are some of the activities that have been prepared by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) as part of the 5th Panamanian Writer's Festival that will be held on Saturday March 25 from 12: 00 noon at the Convent Santo Domingo (Arco Chato) at 3rd Street, San Felipe.
That event will be a great meeting between established and emerging writers, an enabling space to share experiences, identify the strengths of Panamanian literature and create a playful and emotional environment for those who cultivate the habits of writing and reading at all levels.
One of the attractions of this activity will be the presentation of the dramatized reading of "El Principto," a leading work considered as a contemporary classic of universal literature and that will be to be welcomed by children and adults.
The activity that will be free and open to the public of all ages will include artistic performances, sale of crafts with the "artisan market" and delicious menus with the gastronomic offer of the project "Sabores del Barrio."
That interesting literary evening will extend to 10: 00 p.m. with a day of "Versos under the Chat Arco," at which 13 poets and 5 artists will share a great moment filled with poetry and music that will be enjoyed by those who love literature.
They will be about 60 writers who will be present at this event that will lead the public to conduct different genres and to get to know about the great literary production that our country has and especially its protagonists and that great literary diversity that we have.
"It's a varied activity that aims to promote reading, writing and dialogue between writers and their public. We want to strengthen that ecosystem, that more and more an audience will consume Panamanian literature and that will allow the writer to increasingly create and at the same time guarantee the right to have Panamanian public find where to acquire national literature," stated Enrique Noel, director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship at MiCultura.
