The Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery, located at the Plaza de France, opens the 2023 season with an exhibition of 34 photographs by the Japanese Toshi Sakai about the Cimarrritz in Panama and referred to as "A Life Imaginated."
The exhibition is supported by the Ministries of Culture and Social Development as well as the National Secretary for Afro-Panamanian Development.
Krishna Camarena Sugeon, National Director of the National Secretariat for the Development of Afro-Panamanians, stated that Japanese photographer Toshi Sakai is a documentalist who has studied and been linked for more than 50 years to the issue of the black palenques and cicamarrones that fled into the jungle and gave rise to a new culture.
The Exhibition will be free and will be open to the public at the Casco Antiguo from Monday to Friday from 8: 00 a.m. to 4: 00 p.m. from last January 12 and will extend up to 31 this month.
