National Ballet to get expert advice to strengthen dance skills

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué received a visit from the well-known Panamanian dancer Olga Guardia de Smoak with a view to strengthening friendship and coordinating future actions with technical advice and broadening knowledge for the benefit of Panama's national ballet professionals.
To teacher Guardia, as a child the ballet has been his life and through his efforts and his dedication his dreams have come true.
Gloria Barrios, Executive Director of the National Ballet mentioned that she has been with Panama's National Ballet for nine years, with numerous presentations as an Ad honorem consultant, offering her skills and knowledge and bringing with her famous international teachers and choreographers, as well as opportunities abroad for our dancers.
He emphasized that this great professional has collaborated with the institution at the Coppelia, La Peri, Giselle and Don Quixote Rigs with the only motivation that the National Ballet will continue to advance.
"To raise the quality of our Ballet and its symphony is a task that will carry forward this administration to dignify the work of the artist and to offer better quality to the Panamanian people," stated Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture.
Currently Professor Guardia is president of the International Ballet Conference of New Orleans and has been an artistic advisor to several dance organisations.
