La Red Metropolitan Children's Orchestra delights travellers at Tocumen Airport

More than 30 children between the ages of 7 and 14 from The Network of Orquestas and Children's and Young Chors of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), have been taken from Tocumen airport to delight with good music national and international travellers at the rhythm of popular villancas.

It's about the children's group that's been preparing throughout this year to achieve his first presentation, and includes children from La Chorro, Arraijan, Panama Centro, San Miguelito, Tocumen, Pacora and other sectors of the country.

The children's orchestral section is one of the four programs of La Red, where most of its members come with early stimulation, where they refine all necessary techniques.

To Biron Marchan, Music Director of La Red, "The idea is to create a generation from a very early age in this noble art so that they can form as best as they can at a medium time. The aim is to form them in two years and that they can move to youth orchestras."

"What motivated us to conduct this concert is to show at an international level that in Panama we are currently addressing the issue of early teaching for children in orchestras. Many of these children come from even very difficult areas and face social problems and music represents an escape and a hope for them," says Marchan.

The Repertoire presented at Tocuman Airport by these talented children included works such as: "Te Deum," "Oda a la juego," "pachelbel's Canon" and "Jingle Bell Rock," ending at the public's request with the popular villain "with my Burrito Sabanero," with well-deserved applause.
