MiCultura reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Panamanian cinema

.- "Today I declare to you that with the hand of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) in 2023 we will have the feasibility studies for the country to have its first film studies," Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture during his intervention at the inaugural gala of the International Film Festival of Panama (IFF) 2022, to be held from 2 to 4 December.

The eleventh version of the IFF Panama once again opened its doors to the lovers of the seventh art with a selection of 16 films at the highest level, where three Panamanian and other countries such as Costa Rica, Argentina, Tajikistan and Cuba were introduced.

The film "Stars at Noon" was completely filmed in Panama and directed by renowned French film director Claire Denis, who received a recognition by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) for that contribution to Panamanian film production and to that one put up with the industry's economy.

One of the most awaited and best-known production was the production "Titus, Margot and I" that addressed the story of Titus Arias and Margot Fonteyn, a love experienced in the public eye as members of the international farandula, a love filled with gries, conspirations, acceptance and tragedy. A biographical documentary, a political drama and a tribute to dance and to the great dancer of the world in the 20th century.

"After 11 years, Panama posits as a film" Hub "in America and throughout the world, as it opens that window to be looked at, it's an opportunity for our audiovisual creators, it's the meeting point for audiences, for industry members and film critics," emphasized González Villarrué

The Ateneo of the City of Knowledge, La Apple at Santa Ana, The Canal Museum and the Company Hotel at San Felipe were the stage of this great event that brought together a very good number of public at each of its headquarters, not only to enjoy films but also training spaces.
