To promote the practice of reading and to promote meetings and reading experiences is the goal sought by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the conduct of Cultural Rights and Citizenship, in the activity called "The Beast of Books," that will be held next September 30 at Andres Bello Park, during the celebration of the "Book Week."

For this literary event, MiCultura, in partnership with Bella Vista's communal board and the Panamanian Book House, invites citizens to exchange good and good books, preferably novels, stories, poetry, comics and children's books.

In addition to the exchange of books, assistants will be able to enjoy other activities such as the production of a Giant Poem referred to the book, pounding poems, storytelling for children and adults, and creative discussions and workshops with Panamanian literary works.

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, explained that "The True of Books" is an attempt for Panamanian people to visit the parks with the culture of the book while at the same time using public spaces to boost literary activity.

The incumbent of MiCultura invited families, children, youth, parents and grandparents to celebrate the "Book Week" as the main protagonist and to exchange through the book, illusions and hopes, because if reading is a form of happiness, to exchange books is a cultural party, to enjoy and grow as people and as a country.

Meanwhile, Enrique Noel, director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship of MiCultura, felt that "the bartering of books is closely related to the fundamental mission of the Ministry of Culture to promote, guarantee and uphold cultural rights."

"That exchange brings us back to that main way of interrelation, this has to do with what we want with what we wish, I give someone something that I value but now that other person needs them."
