ANUNCIARY CULTURE MINISTERY 20 GANADA PROJECTS FROM Fondo Cine

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué has announced to 20 projects for training and promotion of cinematography selected by a qualifying jury to become a creditor to the support of Fondo Cine established by law 16 of 27 April 2012 and administered by the institution.

The incumbent of Culture explained that this was the first time that a selection of 20 projects have been made and have been chosen from among 23 proposals evaluated at different parameters.

He called for "to give sustainability to projects that have an advanced path and a challenge to re-offer and put forward new proposals"

The projects that will be awarded to nonrefundable Fondo Cine funds are Acampadoc, Panaledia, Icaran and GECU Training Festival, Hayah Festival, Panama Animation, Bannaba Fest and Metto Fest.

The winners also have an Eye-Talking Workshop, Creative Production Workshop, Hilando Historias, Innova Cinema, Creando, Panawista, Animation Workshop, La Mácara Workshop, Impact Characterization Workshop, Film Diplomat, District Cinema, El Miedo Workshop and Documental Retiades de Mi Barrio Workshop.

For more transparency in selecting the winning projects, this was the first time that the selection was undertaken by an international jury composed of Carolina Cordero, from Wordwide Audiovisual Women, Christian Michelle Salazar, an audiovisual law lawyer representing the Executive Secretary of Ibero-American Cinematography, German Pérez, from the Association of Ibero-American Television, Educational and Cultural, and Mónica Calviño, head of the Office of Institutional Development and Geasmine Quesada, an advisor to the Superior Office of the Ministry of Culture.
