Minister González Villarrué opened international copyright seminar

Panama has one of its copyright and related laws "The most modern of the region to be added that she has a new house at the Ministry of Culture," said the holder of this portfolio, Giselle González Villarrué, at the opening of the tenth International Copyright Seminar.
The seminar takes place as part of the 18th version of the International Panama Book Fair 2022 where Minister González Villarrué saw the signing of an agreement with the Panamanian Chamber of the Book to the Quito Pact established in the Ecuadorian capital in 2021.
The International Seminar on Copyright has been an academic activity that, throughout the years, has earned a privileged place among copyright enthusiasts and that is recognized as one of the most prestigious seminars in Latin America as Minister González Villarrué at his opening event.
He emphasized that this version of the seminar coincided with the third anniversary of the creation of the Ministry of Culture and that it marked a return to the face-to-face format and with him, a remeeting of authors, headlines and specialists under the same roof, who honor the motto of the international fair of the book, "we wish to see you again."
He thanked the World Intellectual Property Organization, and his Regional Centre for the Promotion of the Book and the International Federation of Reproductive Rights Organizations for enabling this international meeting.
The program included, among other things, the development of issues such as "Intellectual Property and cutting-edge technologies. How are they changing our ways of innovating, creating and doing businesses" and "Most important projects and programs from national copyright offices in Latin America."
Also, other panels have been developed as "Public Loan and its Function," Review of Comparative and Panamanian Legislation. European experience in managing that right "and the Position of Authors and Editors."
At the opening event of this seminar were Orit Btesh, president of the Panamanian Chamber of Books, Ana María Cabanelas, president of the International Federation of Reproductive Rights Organizations (IFRRO), for Latin America and Andrés Ossa Quintero, director of the Regional Centre for the Promotion of the Book in Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLALC), María Fernanda Mendoza, Consultant to the International Forum of Authors (IAF) and Eric Velazco, national director of copyright at the Ministry of Culture.
