Two new CRITORS are members of the Panamegan ACADEMY of LengA

The Nobel Panamanian writers, Álvaro Menendez Franco and Griselda López were selected honorary academics from the Panamanian Academy of Lingua during their regular monthly session, representing a well-deserved distinction to these literature with an extensive track record at national level.

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) joins with this recognition by highlighting the contributions of Menendez Franco and López, who with his writings have been recognised at national and international level.

Griselda López is a writer and journalist with a track record in Panamanian social communication. He published stories, essays and articles in national and international journals, including "Piel Inentro" (1986), "Dreamed Retirent" (1989), "Gender, Communication and Society" (2000), "Gil Blas Tebeira: The Splendido Knight, in Panamanian 20th Century Protagonists" (2015), "The Capes of Time" (2017) and "Ultrasonido" (2021).

For his part, Álvaro Menéndez Franco, a poet and storyteller, gave light to his historic memory of Panama. His works have deserved national and international recognition, as "Analysis of the work of José María Núñez" (1955), "Portal" (1951), "La March de las Descalzas" (1956) and "Tales and Antitales" (1974), among others.
