MUCH INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN FROM THE NATIONAL INFONIC WITH PEPIN

Five hundred third, fourth and fifth grade boys and girls from several public primary schools throughout the country participated on 8 July at the first national Symphony Orchestra (OSN) educational concert at the Balboa Theater and was animated by the Pepina clown.

The concert included a special educational program directed by the Pepina clown that was a narrative of the children's tale "Pedro and el Lobo" where some instruments acted as characters.

On this occasion all of the musicians of the OSN participated and as well as Prokfiev's "Pedro and the Wolf" were touched some fragments of important works within the symphony repertoire but they could be easily identified by the children.

The first concert was attended by children from the schools Republic of Germany, Center Louis Martin, Pedro J. Ameglio, Father Xavier Villanueva, State of Israel, Republic of Colombia, Republic of Korea, Samaria Sinai and Faustino Domingo Sarmiento.

The Ministry of Culture has been scheduled to conduct other concerts on August 19 and 26 and September 23, always at the Balboa Theater so that more children from public primary schools will benefit from this program.

According to his "teacher" Jorge Ledezma Bradley, director of the OSN, these programs are very important for children's training because they have an increased knowledge about different cultural manifestations with a sample of classical music as offered by the Symphony Orchestra, she noted.
