MiCultura contributes to promoting Rastafari community history

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the direction of Cultural Rights and Citizenship joined with the acts of acceptance of Prince Ermias Haile Selassie, who belongs to the Council of the Crown of Ethiopia and is a grandson of Emperor Haile Selassie, considered among the rasts, the incarnated God, the Redeemer Messiah.

Prior to the program of dialogues of this activity that also had the presence of other entities such as the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) and the National Secretary for the Development of Afro-descendants (SENADAP), Ermias Haile Selassie was received with a nyabingui song and the traditional welcome, the coffee ceremony that is notorious of Ethiopian culture as a sign of friendship, respect and hospitality.

That meeting was of great relevance to Panama because it was the first time that a high headquarters of an African country such as Haile Selassie visited the country and shared that legacy, the teachings, ideas and essence of the Rastafari community, prior to the celebration of African Liberation Day to be held every 25 May.

Haile Selassie called upon his members to think about the future, to follow that spirituality they profess and to continue their united struggle for Africa's respect and recognition and liberation and to continue on the path of faith and unity to work for peace.

A discussion focused on issues such as the 'Perspectiva about Rastafari Movement and the defence of the Lion of Judah's flag against conquest, "" The Special Order of the N'ahbinghi tradition of Uganda, "" History of Rastafari Movement in Panama, "published by a group of professional experts who belong to this group.
