INITIATE TRANSITION PROCESS FOR ACADEMIES and INSTITUTS FROM MiCultura TO EDUCATION

The ministers of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué and Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos have set up work tables with responsibility for the transition of teaching and administrative personnel from educational establishments and higher institutes from MiCultura to MEDUCA.
The action was built on Section 235 of the General Cultural Act (175), which lays down the establishment of a temporary commission with a responsibility to coordinate the measures necessary to achieve the agreements and benefits related to all matters concerning artistic education.
The Commission includes the heads of the portfolios of both ministries, the president of the National Assembly's Commission for Education, Culture and Sport, a representative of the teachers and an administrative staff.
These work tables will cover issues such as the profile of teachers to be considered, the issue of educational infrastructure, the legal and administrative aspects.
Ellis Newman, director of artistic education, emphasized that "there will be shared spaces in the City of the Arts, because we will continue to feed ourselves from these centers indiscriminately that have been passed to MEDUCA, because the educational process that takes place at these locations feeds universities, the arts and us as the Ministry of Culture."
