Panama celebrates International Monuments and Sites Day

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) joins this Monday, April 18, as every year to celebrate the "International Day of Monuments and Sites" with a number of guided tours in Panama City.
The date to celebrate "International Monuments and Sites" was established since 1982 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the aim of visualizing diversity of existing cultural monuments and sites.
The date also aims to highlight the global efforts of countries to preserve and promote them.
Panama therefore joins with this celebration by recognizing the importance of "our monuments and sites, those that have been making extraordinary efforts to restore, preserve and value them from the Ministry of Culture in recent years."
At such an important date MiCultura invites the Panamanian people to reflect on "the memory we wish to leave to our society, understanding the need for these monuments and sites to be spaces for reflection and to allow for the inclusion, diversity and enjoyment of all people."
