MOVEMENT OF DIALOGUE MOVEMENT WITH COLLECTIVE MANAGEMENT ENTITIES

The Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Giselle González Vllarrué, as she continued her policy of bringing them closer with different cultural sectors of the country, received representatives from seven collective management agencies (GSC) to get to know about their tasks and challenges.

The meeting discussed issues related to the role of GSC in defence of and enforcement of copyright law and how important Panama has been to complete its accession to the Treaty of Beijing.

The incumbent of MiCultura expressed the institution's readiness to keep the doors open, not only to collective management entities but to other trade unions linked to the cultural environment.

Meanwhile, Juan Villaverde, president of the Association of Audiovisual Interpreting Rights of Panama (ASDAP), described as a positive approach with Minister González Villarrué, who responded to an "invitation we had to care for him" and also expressed his willingness with the EGC to maintain a line of communication with the institution.

Also present were representatives of the Panamanian Society of Founding Producers (PRODACE), the Panamanian Association of Artists, Interpreters and Executives (PANAIE), the Panamanian Society of Authors and Composers (SPAC) and the Association of Writers, Writers, Dramatologists and Audiovisual Directors of Panama (EDAP) and the Society of Publishers and Authors of Panama (SEA).
