Writers, visual artists and musicians can already participate in national competitions

Established and emerging writers, visual artists and musicians can already participate in the different national competitions held by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the National Directorate of The Arts and that every year enhance the quality of our artists throughout the country.

The National Prize of Young Poetry Gustavo Batista Cedeño, the National Prize of Youth and Children's Literature Carlos Francisco Changmarín (this year's play with poetry) and the National Competition of Literature Ricardo Miró (the oldest prize of Panamanian letters) are the literary competitions that year after year call for the creators of poetry, tale, essay, novel and theater.

Sculpture, photography, digital art and painting are the categories to which artists who wish to propose to the Roberto Lewis National Visual Arts Competition are entitled, in honor of the unique author of iconic works that can be seen at the National Theater, the Civil School of Santiago and at the President of the Republic, among other locations.

While for pentagram experts we have the National Music Roque Cordero Composition Competition that evaluates the categories of Solo, Camera Set, Chorus, Symphony Band and Symphony Orchestra.

Those interested in participating in any of these creative contest have to be Panamanian, by birth or naturalised, whether or not they are resident in national and other nationalities with a determined number of years of established residence in the country (established at each base of their respective contest).

The result of these MiCultura awards benefits about 20 artists among literature, visual artists and musicians with a total of 142 thousand pits among the prize kines and categories they divide into.
