MiCultura english with pollera to sumptists

The Regional Direction of MiCultura in the province of Veraguas developed the initiative "Between Dreams and Arandela," whose call was intended for ladies from the age of fifteen with the desire to stick with the pollera and get a photo shoot.

The elected are ladies who from their disciplines express that love for folclore, one does so through their dolls, who wear their necks and another acts as a folklorist and singer and represent the communities of Bongo, Montijo and San Martín de Porres, Santiago.
In this proposal they received 15 postists letters in each of them have shown different stories with the aim of meeting the dream of dressing with pollera, so that the words of Marquelis de Carrasco of 70, and Antonia Aparicio of 80, were those that have impressed the jury to have them tied with the pollera.

The Civil Juan Demostenes Arosemena School was the perfect stage to fulfill the wish of Marquelis Espinoza de Carrasco of 70 years old and with Antonia Aparicio of 80 years old to wear the typical national suit of our country.

The ladies as well as with their typical Panamanian suit were photographed by the "Beet Fotografia" lens.
Alex Vega regional director of Veraguas expressed that the idea of this contest came from "hearing that there are many ladies who dream about dressing up from pollera, especially the most humble people because of the cost that it brings, and because we are at Christmas, an age of giving and bringing joy."

Marquelis Espinoza de Carrasco from San Martín de Veraguas, is an artisan dedicated to the production of built-up dolls, expressing his love for traditions in each of them, while Antonia Aparicio is a folklorist of the Bongo community, Montijo District.

With this beautiful activity, the Regional of Veraguas closed its 2021 activity season, preparing to continue to highlight culture in each of the districts of the province of Veraguas.
