Tierra del Torito Guapo receives Torcha

At the rhythm of tamborito, at the bridge of Río Hondo. the mayors of Penonomé and Anton, Paula González and Eric Domínguez respectively held the ceremony that grants the temporary custody of the "Bicentennial Torch: 200 wishes for Panama" to the Cocesan district, the land of handsome Torito.

Following the surrender, the highest district authority of Anton, next to the Torcha, reached the Udelas University Extension's facilities in Coclé, where some of his students performed an honor street for the passage of the Flame of Freedom that was covered by Daivis Guerra, rector of this university extension.

At the same time, while continuing his journey, through the central avenue of Antón, with the help of illustrious antoneros, sportsmen, local authorities and inhabitants, they welcomed his journey with applause and with a triumphant way to the Park of January 15th, to enjoy his cultural activities that have been referred to the Bicentennial.

José Ismael Herrera, Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture expressed his satisfaction with how the anarchist people welcomed the initiative and thus joined with the celebration of Panama's 200-year independence of Spain while at the same time congratulating the work team of the Municipality of Canton for the organization.

The bicentennial Torch will stay in the canton District until 25 November as it will be given to the Province of Western Panama, with the aim of reaching the viewpoint of the Bridge of the Americas on 27 and 28 November to have a walk between the town of Panama and the District of San Miguelito.
