MiCultura RINDE ACCOUNTS AND ANNOUNCER PROJECTS IN TOY BOTS

The soon launch of the construction of a Cultural Centre in Changuinola District, the empowerment of cultural spaces at the Government Building at Colón Island and proposals for cultural projects with local authorities announced the Minister of Culture (MiCultura) Carlos Aguilar Navarro.

The above was revealed by the incumbent of MiCultura during a work tour to different points in the province of Bocas del Toro and where he was with several officials of his work team.

Aguilar Navarro met with local authorities, civil servants and private companies who will work together to achieve these projects.

Yessenia Sánchez, Director of International Technical Cooperation, detailed the actions, programs, results and advances of projects at national level undertaken by the Ministry of Culture as the recovery of historic sites such as Portobelo, San Lorenzo at Colón and the re-opening of the Reina Torres Araúz Anthropological Museum that has been closed for more than 24 years.

Opal de Icaza, Chief of Staff of the Superior Office presented to the authorities the advances of the Colmena Reading Centres and emphasized that, up to the date of the 19 centers designed for Bocas del Toro, 14 have been dedicated and highlighted the work of the volunteers at the different Reading Centres.

Jaronne Rovi, Director of Infrastructure at MiCultura, published the construction of the Centre for Fine Arts and Folklore Studies at Changuinola, with areas intended for plastic arts workshops, such as drawing, painting sculpture and ceramics, dance and music halls and access ramps for people with disabilities.

Likewise, the mayor of the Almirante District, Deric Chavarría, expressed his appreciation for his visit and put forward some initiatives with three projects at first, such as a modular museum, the House of Culture and a mini-colliseum to conduct cultural activities.

On his second day, the MiCultura authorities met with the president of the Bocas del Toro Chamber of Tourism, Juan Pablo de Caro, Civil Society, with the aim of bringing proposals, contributing ideas to highlight culture and preserving the architecture of the place in the recovery of the Bocas del Toro historic town.

The president of the House of Tourism at the concurrently expressed "there are a lot of stories in every street and it's you that can help us get this back as a tourist product." Dancing our traditions, we have work to do.
