With the surrender of the "Torcha la Libertad 200 desires for Panama" by the mayor of Chitre, Juan Carlos Huertas to his counterpart of Parita, Fidel Arauz continued his journey of the commemorative banner to the Bicentennial of Panama's Independence of Spain.

That surrender was held at the centre of the bridge above the Parita River, as was the case with the revamp between La Villa de Los Santos and Chitre that occurred at the centre of the bridge above the La Villa River.

The event of surrender was represented by MiCultura General Secretary José Ismael Herrera who emphasized the commitment of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro and the National Bicentennial Commission to reflect to the country the importance of his 200-year-old conduct in strengthening our nationality.

From the reception at the Parita River, a caravan went out to the Colonial Plaza of Parita, where a cultural event was held to celebrate the event organized by the National Bicentennial Commission that presides the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro.

At La Plaza Colonial de Parita, beautiful and built-up families escorted the Torcha that was given by Mayor Araúz to an athlete from Paris of Parita, Oscar Santana, who accompanied with the music band of José Daniel Crespo College, was dedicated to walk the emblem through different streets and to get to the Plaza where a cultural artistic program was prepared to celebrate the event.

There was a presentation of diablicos Dirty 10th by Tejada Medardo, a presentation of violin, El Punto and La Espina. A cheerful tamborito Pariteño was also presented.

The Torch will stay at Parita until 5 p.m. this Tuesday, when it should be passed to the authorities of the Santa María District that will also do the same as long as the Torch remains in this town area.

The mayor of Santa María will later surrender the Torch to the local head of Santiago in the Divisa area.

The Torch, that's been moved by a Panama Fire Corps car, will be taken to the different districts along the Inter-American Road until they reach the capital town on November 28, a high date for the Bicentennial celebration.

It should be noted that the Torcha's tour is only one of the many activities organized by the National Commission that includes the re-editing of literary works that count on the gestures and processes and consolidation of Panama's independence from Spain, forums, literary competitions, Galas de la Orquesta Sympónica and theater and ballet performances among others.
