The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), the company SONDA and the Commission of the Bicentennial of Panama's Independence of Spain, that presides the regent of the Panamanian cultural portfolio, Carlos Aguilar Navarro have come together to reflect this historic milestone for Panama with the issue of four cards that users can buy at lockers, paid zones, and recharging machines at the stations of Panama Metro.

The four models of the commemorative cards are inspired by the colors, flag and history of the bientennial logo and from October 21, users of the Panama City's Integrated Transport System will be able to purchase these models of the cards of this commemorative edition as an optional way.

With this launch the company SONDA, responsible for the integrated payment card system for the MetroBus and Metro of Panama City, adds to the celebration of this event that an extraordinary opportunity to put to value and highlight the importance of this date at which Panama went in search of its freedom and identity as a nation.

"At SONDA we wish to be part of this celebration and to bring this story to the thousands of users of the Metro and Metro Bus through this special issue of cards that they can collect and save as a memory to the present and future generations. We are proud that the Commission of Bicentennial of Independence has welcomed this proposal and that today we are part of this historic event," said Víctor Betancourt, General Manager of SONDA Panama.

On behalf of the president of the Bicentennial Commission, Vice-Minister of Culture Gabriel González stated that these initiatives contribute to visualizing and promoting the date that we Panamanian people have commemorated the 200 years of independence, as well as representing a valuable reminder to hundreds of thousands of Panamanian people about this part of our history.

These cards represent a valuable reminder to hundreds of thousands of Panamanians and will accompany them in their wallet or pocket by enabling citizens to feel identified with the true meaning of this historic fact that we are about to live, and to realize that we have a year more of our independence and we have recognized that our people are starting to form the path of our identity as a nation, added Gabriel González.

SONDA has 10 years as financial manager of the Massiva Mobilization System of Panama City as part of the daily lives of thousands of Panamanian people, providing mobility through a single card that facilitates transport users' travel and is proud to be a part of this important celebration for the country.
