They set up work table to agree new prices

The Ministry of Culture has established a negotiating table with officials from the Panama Society of Authors and Composers (SPC) and with the Panama Association of Broadcasting (APR), representing 81 stations at national, regional and news level, to reach agreements with regard to an award of royalty fees for copyright.
To Idania Fernández's national director of copyright "this was the first session of his work, great advances have been made and some agreements have been reached and there's a proposal that will be analysed by his authors and composers.
"We have no doubt as a ministry that both trade unions will come to an arrangement with benefits for all," added Fernández.
Militza Pérez expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for providing the space for meetings with all collective management agencies, "with this work table we wish to come up with agreements and get through with the situation we have been confronted at those moments at which we have been affected by all, both music users and the management society for a decline in income.
We are optimistic that as with other jobs we have been involved we will be able to reach an agreement that benefits both sides. "
The meeting discussed issues such as the SPC tariff, approved by the board of directors on October 28, 2014, with an authorized calculation for stations at national level of 600 months, those for coverage in metropolitan area of 4500.00 and regional and news area of 3000.00 for radio stations by broadcast or wireless, at a sound distance through hertzian or radio waves.
The meeting that was held at the training room of the Ministry of Culture was made up of directors of APR Pedro Solis, president, Alessio Gronchi, Vice-President, Guillermo Antonio Adames, director, Ricardo Bustamante, Prosecutor and Orlando López and by SPC: Militza Mabel Pérez, general director, Sergio Cortiz and Ricardo Alvarado and MiCultura Idania Fernández, national director of copyright and Yarilis Serrano, and legal advisor to DNDA.
