UNDP POINDERA MiCultura PROJECT IN Casco Antiguo

The Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Carlos Aguilar Navarro received the new resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Panama, María Del Carmen Sacasa, who was told about the progress of the reactivation of the Casco Antiguo and later accompanied her on a tour of the most iconic locations of the area.
The visit began at the office of the Casco Antiguo (OCA), where the UNDP representative received an extensive explanation about the progress of the process of rescue and reactivation of the tourism and colonial sector that, after the Panama Canal, is the second most visited by nationals and foreigners.
He responded to Fernando Díaz, director of the OCA to explain to Mrs. Sacasa the scope and components of the project and later to Minister Aguilar Navarro, explain about historic colonial sites on a tour of the area.
Following the day, the UNDP representative in Panama described as "absolutely fascinating" the work currently being done at the Casco as a "spear tipple unlike what was likely to have been done in other countries."
Among other things, Sacasa noted that the project incorporates the "greenhouse effect reduction, production of solar energy and that the population in vulnerable conditions are taken into account and incorporated into restoration and reactivation plans, including with regard to artisan.
The diplomat and her comitiva later witnessed at the Anita Villalaz theater the talent of twelve Panamanian youth who are part of the Orchestra and Youth Chorus Network of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and who will have an opportunity to appear at the Ciudad Villa del Rosario, North of Santander in Colombia next 6 October at the occasion of the Bicentennial of the constitution of Gran Colombia.
The UNDP representative's visit to Panama concluded with her participation at an event to introduce the work "1821" by Alfredo Castillero Calvo, with an account of the background of the independent movement of Panama of Spain and held at the National Theater.
