Young Panamanian musicians will participate in an event to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Constitution of Gran Colombia.

Twelve Panamanian youth who form part of the Youth Orchestra and Choirs Network of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) will have an opportunity to come to the town of Villa del Rosario, Norte de Santander, Colombia, on October 6 at the occasion of the Bicentennial celebration of the constitution of Gran Colombia.

They will be part of the Bolivarian Chorus of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia that will be made up of singers from the four countries that at that time have integrated Gran Colombia and today are Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Panama.

The Panamanian representatives under the tutoring of Professor Margot Parés Reyna will be with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and share with guest artists and with a chorus made up of representatives of each country and will play works that symbolize the predominant ideals of the age on which the construction of the Republic was built and that also speak musically about history.

Among the pieces to be performed are the N 9 Symphony by Ludwig Van Beethoven in his fourth movement, the National hymns of each country and the hallelujah of the Colombian composer Juan Antonio Cuellar.

Parés Reyna explained that young people have had weeks of very hard and intense work and that this type of experience will make them grow and that the country will be proud to be represented with this high-level musical delegation.

The most advanced boys from the Orchestra Network were chosen and special guests were included for this event.

The meeting in Santander Colombia will be held with the participation of the four presidents of the countries that have formed Gran Colombia.
