CONSULTATIONS TO DECLARATE CULTURAL FACTS
Content of the News
To explain with the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) some concepts contained in the bill 291 that declare areas of the correction of Las Tablas in the province of Los Santos as a Panamanian Cultural Heritage, was the intention of a meeting between a subcommission of the Commission of Education, Culture and Sport of the National Assembly and the incumbent of the bouquet, Carlos Aguilar Navarro.
That bill would be aimed at creating an area in Las Tablas, with hidden proportions, similar to the Casco Antiguo of Panama City, that will contribute to economic recovery and that generally forms part of the commitment of the National Government.
The project that was submitted by Congressman Eric Broce from circuit 7-1 is analysed in a subcommission headed by Congressman Fernando Arce, where necessary consultations with MiCultura are made to bring the project into line with the General Cultural Act.
At the session of the Sub-Commission, as well as technical opinions, it was established that the law was appropriate to the General Cultural Act and that there was a need to determine at field level what are the polygons or buildings that could be included as Cultural Heritage.
The deputy Corina Cano, who was part of the subcommission, explained that there will be a work tour with technical personnel from the Ministry of Culture and the National Assembly to determine in the field the scope of project 291.
José Ismael Herrera, Secretary General, and María Luisa Lindo, Director of the Office of Legal Advice and Linette Montenegro and Itzela Quiros, Director and Assistant Director of Cultural Heritage, respectively, participated by the Ministry of Culture.
