The Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Carlos Aguilar Navarro, supported his budget for next year 2022 by order of the B / 42.2 million, of which B / 25.7 are for operation and B / 16.5 for investments.
The support by Minister Aguilar Navarro was expressed at the National Assembly's Budget Commission and detailed that with 39% of its investments, the creative, cinematic and audiovisual industries of Panama will be promoted, among other initiatives, national crafts and intangible expressions of a heritage character as well as the protection of the rights of creators with respect to their artistic, literary and scientific works.
The area of operation will be run by personal services (B / .18.4 million) and non-personal services (B / .2.7 million). The areas to be covered by MiCultura in the area of operation will include basic service, rental, financial and commercial service costs, maintenance, consulting and living expenses as well as other needs of the institution, including useful materials, miscellaneous materials, spare parts, fuels, lubricants and stationery.
MiCultura has among its budgetary commitments 4.1 million balboas directed mainly to comply with Act N ° 16 of Cine- National production amounting to 3 million balboas as as well as other commitments with international institutions, to conduct competitions, agreements, festivals and different support to cultural groups.
With regard to the investment budget for 2022, MiCultura plans to continue with the construction of La Ciudad de Las Artes with an inherited 38% advance but currently FYR 68% and 62% financial advance, with the balance to be paid amounting to B / .19.4 million and planned to end by September 2022.
It's important to note that an additional B / .13 million are required for the purchase of equipment and furniture for theater, amphitheater, teaching and administration.
The investments also cover the empowerment of the Cultural Center - Aguadulce B /. 1.045,000 and the rehabilitation of the Center for Higher Study of Fine Arts and Folklor of David by B / .294,237.00.
Other investment projects include the Restoration, Equipment and Furniture of the Old Abel Bravo College that will house the Center of Art and Culture of Colón project with a value of B / .27,219,999.99.
